Description

We are seeking a highly talented and energetic Custom Ingredients Sales Manager to help develop new business and expand existing account relationships for food manufacturers. The successful candidate will have deep ties in the custom ingredients food industry and be energized by delivering solutions to enhance food safety and help customers grow revenues and market share.



  • Develop account and market specific strategies for growth (competitive and new market opportunities)

  • Sell consultatively to mid and senior level national accounts.

  • Listen well to customer needs and articulate requirements to marketing, R&D, procurement, QA and other areas as necessary.  Establish link between customer expectations and internal operations.

  • Maintain existing customer relationships, manage ongoing technical support requirements with custom ingredient accounts, and maximize sales.

  • Grow customer base while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Create and deliver regular business reviews and professional customer presentations to senior level executives.


In addition, our Custom Ingredients Sales Manager must:



  • Identify sales trends to ensure the Company strategy is properly positioned.

  • Benchmark all sales related activity.

  • Ensure targets are met.

  • Develop, manage and control the sales and expense budgets and forecasts.

  • Be entrepreneurial in spirit, highly motivated, communicate effectively, and possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.


In this role, the Custom Ingredients Sales Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of current customer accounts and establishing new customer accounts, while using relationship building skills and professional methods of communication to provide for effective sales of the company’s products. 


 


This position is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Frankfort, Illinois (Chicago) and is focused on Fortune 500 and the largest CPG and restaurant customers in the world.



The ideal candidate will have companies listed on his/her resume that have dealt with food based sales on an industrial basis.


 


The following Education and Experience is required:



  • 5 to 7 years of demonstrated sales experience in food (or related) industry.  Prefer candidates with custom ingredients sales products background.

  • B.S. degree in marketing, business or related field preferred, (or a combination of experience and education/training.)

  • Prior experience managing customer relationships.

  • Proven history of successful sales contract negotiations.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel often.
