Description

Responsible for overall informational technology (IT) support of the Moneygram International Finance organization.  This position will own the IT strategic planning, implementation and support for the Finance organization.  Additionally, this position will have overall program management responsibilities for the Moneygram Oracle Implementation.


 



  • Develop and maintain a multi-generational project plan for Oracle Financials.  Ensure delivery of the Oracle Financials Program on time and on budget.

  • Building strong business relationships with the Finance management team and its staff, partner with and provide IT support to the entire Finance department. Ensure that supported Finance applications meet availability and reliability targets.

  • Direct and manage a team of 5-7 direct reports, consisting of business systems analysts, project managers, and operating managers.

  • Lead a cross functional team of 80 team members on MoneyGram’s Oracle program.

  • Coordinate closely with multiple entities, including outside consulting organizations and offshore resources management.

  • Ensure that IT solutions follow Project Management Office and Security standards.  Ensure that IT solutions are consistent with the MGI IT Roadmap.


 


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, business administration, computer science, or a related field, required.

  • Years of Experience:  Minimum 10, required.


ERP Project and Program Management: Minimum 10 years of complex and cross-organizational project and program manager/director experience. Must have successfully led and completed as program manager/director a minimum of 2 implementations of Oracle eBusiness Suite of applications - or equivalent suite of Peoplesoft ERP modules - for large organizations with high transaction volumes. Strong understanding of application, database, technical infrastructure and supporting systems related to ERP implementations, required.


 


Finance background: Extensive financial systems and processes knowledge obtained by leading ERP financial modules implementations, required. Other work experience in the financial services industry a plus.


 


Management background: Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical or business staff, including a track record of successful recruitment, development, mentorship, and performance management, required.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence decisions of all levels of technology and business staff, up to and including the most senior level management. Able to effectively assert point of view without alienating others. Skillfully manages expectations and negotiates deliverables.

  • Strong facilitation experience and skills, including the ability to effectively facilitate large formal meetings containing multiple senior level stakeholders with competing agendas or perspectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and on-going dialogue with others to understand business strategies and goals, and to effectively resolve program issues and problems.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and to present persuasively and professionally in front of a group of senior managers.
